Padma Shri R.M. Vasagam
Shri Vasagam is currently the Chairman of the National Design and Research Forum of the Institution of Engineers, India and the Vice President of the Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute, where he has earlier served as pro-chancellor and vice-chancellor. Mr. Vasagam has also served as the Chairman of the Tamilnadu Institute of Information Technology, vice-chancellor of the Anna University and Director at the Directorate of Advanced Technology and Planning at ISRO. A B.E (Hons.) from University of Madras and M.Tech. from IIT, Madras, Mr. Vasagam has been working on the Indian Space Programme since its inception in the early 60’s. A Fellow of International Academy of Astronautics, Paris; National Academy of Sciences, Allahabad; Aeronautical Society of India; Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers; Astronautical Society of India; and the Institution of Engineers India, Mr. Vasagam is a member of the Steering Committee on Science and Technology, State Planning Commission, Tamil Nadu; member of the Standing Committee of the Department of Ocean Development, Govt. of India; member of the Natural Sciences Sub-Commission of Indian National Commission for UNESCO, Ministry of Science & Technology, New Delhi; and member of the 10th Five Year Plan Working Group for Department of Space. A recipient of the Vikram Sarabhai Award (1981), IEEE Centennial Medal (1984), Biren Roy Award for Space (1988), Om Prakash Bhashin Award (1988) and the C-DAC PARAM Award (1991), Mr. Vasagam was conferred the Padmashri in 1982.
Dr. K. Aprameyan

Dr. K. Aprameyan
Dr.K. Aprameyan, is currently a Senior Technical Advisor at TELCON and an independent director on the board of Tehri Hydro Development Corporation, a Government of India undertaking. A graduate in mechanical engineering and a post graduate in automobile engineering, he holds a Doctorate in the field of internal combustion engines from Paris University, France. After working in the industry and also serving as a member of the faculty at IISc, he joined BEML in 1976 where he went on to become Chairman and Managing Director in 1995. During his distinguished career, Dr. Aprameyan has been the National Project Director of two UNDP aided projects; Vice President of Fluid Power Society of India (FPSI); Chairman of Indian Institute of Metals; National President of Association of Machines and Mechanisms; Chairman of Indian Earth Moving and Construction Industries Association; Member of the CII National Council; and Member of the Governing Council of the Institute of Robotics and Intelligence Systems. He is also a distinguished visiting professor at AICTE-INAE and fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineers. Dr. Aprameyan is the recipient of Mechanical Engineering Design award instituted by the Institution of Engineers, India and the R&D innovation award instituted by the Society of Defense Technologists (2003).
Padma Shri Dr. T S Prahlad

Padma Shri Dr. T S Prahlad
Dr. T S Prahlad holds a BE in Mech. Engg, and an ME and Ph.D in Aeronautical Engineering from IISc. During his career, he has held various positions in VSSC, Trivandrum heading, at different times, the Aerodynamics Division, Aerospace Dynamics and Design Group, and the Flight Dynamics Group. He was associated with the SLV-3, ASLV, PSLV and GSLV development programmes and, as Project Director Aeronautical Development Agency, was associated with Light Combat Aircraft development programme. As the Director of NAL, Dr. Prahlad was associated with HANSA and SARAS civil aircraft development programmes. He is presently a visiting professor at PESIT, teaching mechanics of fluids and various other aerospace elective courses. A Fellow of the Aeronautical Society of India and Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering, Dr. Prahlad was conferred the Padma Shri in 2004. He is also the recipient of the H.K. Firodia Award (2004), the Distinguished Alumni Award of IISc. (2009) and the Eminent Engineer Award from the Institution of Engineers (2009).
Dr. M. K. Padmanabhan
Dr. M. K. Padmanabhan
Dr. Padmanabhan is a senior professional with over three decades of experience in the automotive, defense and aerospace verticals. Currently a Senior Advisor to Leyland Defense Systems India and Marg Ltd., Dr. Padmanabhan has earlier served as CEO at Mahindra Aerospace, Mahindra Engineering Services and BOS Calleo. During his more than 15-year stint at organizations such as ISRO and ADA, he was involved the development and manufacture of carbon composites for the first time in India. He also played a key role in founding Plexion Technologies and ramping up its revenue to $75 million in less than 5 years before its sale to Mahindra Aerospace. Dr. Padmanabhan is a PhD from IIT, Bombay and is the recipient of the Distinguished Achievement Award by ISRO and the Certificate of Commendation from NASA Marshall Space Flight Center for successful payload deployments for the Spacelab 3 and Space Shuttle Challenger Program.
Rear Admiral (retired) J. J. Baxi, AVSM, VSM

J. J. Baxi
Rear Admiral (retired) J.J. Baxi is currently the Chairman, Baxi Enterprises Private Limited; Managing Director, ESS India Private Limited; Director, HBL-ELTA Avionics Private Limited; and Director, Angelique International Limited. After serving in the Indian Navy for more than three decades, Shri Baxi went on to work with BEL, as Director (R&D), during which time the company won the National R&D award, and later as Chairman and Managing Director. Shri Baxi was awarded the Ati Vishishta Seva Medal for the assignment involving integration of Soviet and Western Weapons on INS GODAVARI. He received the Vishishta Seva Medal for the redesign of the INS HIMGIRI. He is also credited with the introduction of computer-based training in the Indian Navy for the first time. Shri Baxi is a Fellow and Chartered Engineer (CEng, FIET) of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, UK, an Honorary Fellow of the Indian Institute of Industrial Engineers and a Life Member of the Indian Society of Lighting Engineers.
Prof. E.S. Dwarakadasa

Dr. E.S. Dwarakadas is the CEO and MD of Karnataka Hybrid Micro Devices. A PhD in metallurgy from the IISc., he concurrently holds the posts of Director, DATSU Materials Testing and Technology; Chairman and Director, COSMIC Industrial Laboratories; Chairman, NIPI Software; and Chairman, SEAR Energy. He is also the Founder/Managing Trustee of the Foundation for Advanced Materials Education; Founder/President Swadeshi Science Trust; and Chairman, Council of Wardens, Students Hostel, Indian Institute of Science. He also consults with companies such as Ashok Leyland, IFB Industries, Kirloskar Toyoda Textile Machinery, Usha Martin, BHEL and the Maini Group of Industries, to name a few. Prior to beginning his corporate stint, Dr. Dwarakadasa served as a Professor and later as Distinguished Professor at IISc. and RVCE respectively. Dr. Dwarakadasa is the receipient of the Metaserve International Award, Institution of Metallurgists, London (1980); Ferroguard Award, Electrochemical Society of India (1981); MASCOT Award, Electrochemical Society of India (1982); Indranil Gold Medal, Geological, Mining and Metallurgical Society of India (1986); Best Metallurgist Award, Ministry of Steel and Mines and Indian Institute of Metals (1990); Hindustan Zinc Gold Medal, Indian Institute of Metals (1997); and the NALCO Gold Medal for life time work in Aluminium Research, Indian institute of Metals (2007). He was also placed among the Top 100 Engineers 2008 and also named the International Engineer of the year 2008 by the International Biographic Society, UK.
Dr. Sridhar Mitta

Sridhar Mitta
Dr. Sridhar Mitta, Ph.D is the Founder and Managing Director of NextWealth Entrepreneurs Private Limited. He has been a globally recognized expert for nearly 40 years in the management of research and development in the information technology industry. He has extraordinary technological and strategic depth and has also been actively been involved in developing entrepreneurship. Dr. Mitta’s ability to see the big picture and to help others identify and understand strategic issues is at the heart of his own success and key to the success of those he assists.

Dr. Mitta was involved with Wipro Limited since its inception in 1980 and played a key role in Wipro achieving technology leadership. As its Chief Technology Officer and the head of Wipro's Global R&D he spearheaded strategies which transformed the captive business unit into a profit center. He pioneered global delivery of outsourced product development services to technology majors such as Intel Corporation, Cisco Systems, Lucent Technologies, and Sun Microsystems. Wipro became the highest valued company in India during his tenure. He began his career with Electronics Corporation of India, Ltd., where he was responsible for the development of computer systems for defense and space applications. He serves on the Board of several companies in the United States and India.

Dr. Mitta is a Senior Member of IEEE and Fellow of Indian National Academy of Engineering. He was inducted into CEAT Hall of Fame of Oklahoma State University. Dr. Mitta holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. from Oklahoma State University, M. Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and an undergraduate degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Andhra University.
